The word Ekphrasis translates to “description” in Greek and ekphrastic writing describes or is inspired by a work of art. The Scugog Arts 2024 Literary Contest offers 4 pieces of visual art from its 2023 Annual Juried Show as inspiration for the contest entries.

How it works:
- Pick from the selection of four artworks shown in the Scugog Arts 2023 Annual Juried Show to use as inspiration
- Adults (22+) may enter poetry (max 40 lines) or fiction stories (max 2,500 words)
- Youth (15-21) may enter poetry (max 40 lines) and fiction stories (max 2,500 lines)
- Pay one entry fee of $20 and enter up to three written pieces
- Fill out the form below and pay the entry fee with your submission(s)

Youth and Adult Short Fiction Story:
