PROVIDING INVENTORY OF WORK
1) A complete inventory Form must be created by you for our use no later than two weeks prior to the opening of your show.
2)Your inventory will be entered into our SQUARE point-of-sale system and subsequently into our online shop.
PRICING & SALES
1) If you sell a piece in your show, you will receive payment for sales via direct deposit to your bank account through the Canadian secure payment service Plooto within the month after your show ends.
2) All work shown at the gallery MUST BE FOR SALE.
3) Do not raise your original pricing on a piece. We ask that you keep your pricing consistent across all platforms.
4) We NOW collect HST on sales, please keep your pricing consistent with your personal marketing standards.
DISPLAYING YOUR WORK
1) Scugog Arts has a volunteer team that will install your exhibition/. If you have specific display instructions, please let us know. We set up on the Thursday or Friday before the opening reception.
2) Our wall-space has two 24" wide walls and one 236" main wall. Our west window is 56" with a 30" deep display ledge. Estimate about 20-25 works depending on their size.
We have plinths for sculptural work.
A visit to our space is strongly encouraged.
3) We will create all labels for the show.
4) For wall-hanging work, PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR WORK HAS D-RINGS AND WIRE INSTALLED ALONG THE BACK.
5) We make every effort to hang all works delivered to us, however we reserve the right to not install work for the show if:
a) The piece(s) are not properly prepared for hanging as described above
b) The piece(s) do not reflect the work/quality that was shown in the images submitted
c) The piece(s) are not consistent in quality or theme
d) There are too many pieces of work.
6) You are responsible for the delivery and pickup of your artwork. You can drop off the work at our space on the Tuesday or Wednesday before the show's opening reception (we will be in communication regarding specific dates).
MARKETING YOUR EXHIBITION
1) We create marketing materials for your show using the images, artist statement, and proposal you provide. The content you provide can be updated with our input up to 3 months prior to your show.
2) We have posters and rack cards made, and promote the show in our newsletter, on our website, through Focus on Scugog and on our social media.
3) Feel free to re-post our graphics on socials, distribute posters and do your own marketing.
4) If you would like to another event while your show is in the gallery space, like an artist talk or workshop, let us know as soon as possible and we can discuss ideas.
EXHIBITION OPENING
1) We hold an artist reception at our space on the Saturday of the show's opening from 1-3pm. We provide snacks and light refreshments at the reception.
2) Artists are expected to attend the show's opening reception to meet the public. We encourage you to invite friends & family and promote your show on social media.
