Small Town BIG is back! This vibrant, community-wide festival celebrating arts and culture across Scugog returns May 1–10, 2026. 

Each year, art lovers journey across the township for the Scugog Studio Tour on May 2 and 3. Inspired by the incredible creativity on display during that weekend, Small Town BIG expands the experience into a full ten days of arts programming, showcasing just how much our small town has to offer. 

Presented by Scugog Arts, in collaboration with a range of local partners; including Lavender-Blu, Lotus Loft, Applewood Farm & Winery, and Theatre on the Ridge just to name a few, the festival brings together a diverse lineup of events across multiple venues. From live music and visual art to workshops, comedy, and movement, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. 

Highlights include Hwy 61: Journey of the Blues, a live storytelling performance exploring the history and migration of Blues music, taking place May 1 at 7:30 PM at Town Hall Theatre. Get ready to laugh at Girls Nite Out: Comedy Night with Elvira Kurt and Friends, returning to Port Perry for another unforgettable evening. And of course, the Scugog Studio Tour features 35 artists across 15 unique sites, offering a rare opportunity to step inside studios and connect directly with local creators.
