Artist Statement
Through art, that which is formless can be expressed through forms. I allow this eternal, creative, formless energy to channel through me like a vessel, and manifest itself in my art without any rules or limitations, being itself.
Tatum Diann’s Story
I have been an artist my whole life. I was raised by two talented artists, a painter and a drawer, so my world was always surrounded by beautiful art. As I grew older, I came to understand that the world itself is art. I love the natural world so much and I attempt to honour it in my art, even though I usually work in an abstract style. I am developing and uncovering this style at York University, where I will receive a BFA in Studio Art in 2026. This past spring 2025, I lived in Melbourne, Australia, where I completed an exchange program for Creative Arts. Travelling allowed me to experience a diversity of energy, a diversity that now exists in my art, being unified with me. Spirituality is my path, and my art is a physical signpost of my inner and outer worlds. I hope to express this in my art, which I believe can impact and help people. With positivity, small catalysts can lead to big changes. I express what I know through painting, drawing, photography, music, speech, writing, and any other outlet I feel guided to use. I believe this is my purpose, here on this beautiful earth.
