“My goal is to create bold and quirky interpretations of various subjects inspired by nature and storytelling. I love working with watercolour, gouache, lino, ink and pencil.”
Shelby has completed a “Visual & Creative Arts Diploma,” and an “Honours Bachelor of Illustration,” at Sheridan College.
In the summer of 2016, Shelby interned with illustrator Gracia Lam at the co-working space, “The Station,” 41 Richmond Street West, Toronto
Shelby showcased her Illustration Thesis at the “2017 Illustration Graduate Exhibit: UNSEEN (theme)” Her second-semester thesis presented book cover designs from novels featuring the theme of Underdogs. The books chosen were: Precious, The Help, Holes, and The Hunger Games.
From 2017-2019 Shelby marketed her work at, “The Framer’s Gallery” in Port Perry and showcased her Christmas Tree designs at “The Piano Cafe,” during the fall season of 2017. She is continuing to build her portfolio to be able to exhibit more extensively.
