Sandra MacPherson

Watercolour & Acrylic Painter

My paintings express atmospheric luminosity in images that evoke a sense of peace, stillness, memories, belonging, and well-being.”

A painter for nearly 30 years, Sandra’s portfolio of watercolour and acrylic paintings includes landscapes, buildings, floral, still life, figurative, and abstract works. She loves the tangible, lasting result of a finished painting and her work invokes themes of peace and preservation of environment, community, and history.

Expressing her great love of historic homes and other architecture, Sandra has been often commissioned to create paintings of well-loved homes and cottages for people, some wishing to give them as gifts to family and friends. A small, delicate watercolour, created for a wedding invitation, “Peonies”, is included in the permanent art collection at the Heintzman House, in Thornhill.

Sandra is a member of the Scugog Council for the Arts, the Lake Scugog Studio Tour, and the Coldwater and Area Studio Tour. She is an associate member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and a Past-President of the Willowdale Group of Artists. She has participated in group and solo shows in York Region, Scugog, Huronia, Parry Sound, and Toronto.
