Ruth Greenlaw
Painter, Mixed Media Artist, & Print Maker

Ruth Greenlaw was born and raised in Ontario and has returned after living in other communities. She has studied art at university, in workshops, and classes. Since returning to Ontario 11 years ago, she has joined several artist groups and has won awards in juried shows.
Greenlaw enjoys expressing herself in line and colour using pastels, watercolours, printmaking, and various drawing media. She loves using different types of paper such as coloured sandpaper for pastels or thin oriental papers layered together for etchings and drawings. Greenlaw’s subject matter is based on nature including landscapes, flowers, and exploration with leaves and roots. She also draws the human form, using life drawing to sharpen her skills.
Experimenting with different materials and subjects. Ruth feels that art offers endless possibilities for self-expression.
