Rebecca Raines

Writer and Graphic Designer

Rebecca grew up north of Port Perry, Ontario, on her family’s dairy farm. At a young age, Rebecca always had a pencil in her hand for sketching, drawing and writing. She wrote multiple short stories to share with her family—each one accompanied by a hand drawn book cover. Eventually, she earned her Graphic Design Diploma at Durham College and pursued a career in design. Years later in 2021, Rebecca won Port Perry’s 150 Banner/Flag contest.

In her early twenties, Rebecca rekindled her love of writing. Over a course of a few years (and several poems later) she self-published her first poetry book to encourage and empower those in her life. She swiftly published a shorter poetry book right afterwards which focused more on her spirituality and embracing her roots. Rebecca continues to share her poetry and tales on social media and in her Etsy shop ‘Little Hexen’.
