Lesley Drummond
Painter & Mixed Media Artist
Lesley Drummond comes from a creative family and completed a BFA at Queen’s U. with a major in Studio Art and a minor in Art History in 1982. After graduating, she held different gallery positions in the Toronto art scene, including ones at the Harbourfront Art Gallery and Gallery Moos in Yorkville.
Her love of sharing her art skills led to a 30-year teaching career in Visual Art, Art History, Applied Design and IB Art for Grades 7 – OAC in the Kawartha Lakes area. She also ran the Visual Arts programme for the Trillium Lakelands Arts Camp for 10 years and spent three summers as Artist in Residence for a number of Ontario provincial parks.
Retiring in 2015, Lesley now divides her time between her position as Director of the artists’ co-operative Kawartha Arts Network, a director on the Board of the Kawartha Lakes Arts Council, trainer for Girl Guides of Canada, teaching private art classes, and trying to spend as much time as possible exploring new ideas and media in her studio. Lesley and her husband live in the Janetville area and are enjoying renovating their old stone house in their spare time.
