“I use a variety of stones and tools to bring out the hidden images hidden within the stone.”
Gordon has been carving for 15 years. He participates annually in local studio tours that include Durham West Studio Tour, Uxbridge Studio Tour, Stouffville Studio Tour and the Lake Scugog Studio Tour. Gordon, along with his sculpture students and colleagues participated in “SG Rocks” at the Station Gallery in Whitby. Gordon also enters Juried Art Shows when possible.
Gordon has taken workshops in BC with jade artist Deborah Wilson, Haliburton School for the Arts, and the Zimart Program with Zimbabwe Shona Artists to broaden his technical horizons. For the past 5 years, Gordon has mentored 8 people interested in learning to carve and it has been most rewarding.
