Ericka Park
Ceramic Artist
“My work is a mixture of vibrant and earthy colour palettes and textures, intended to marry nature and whimsy in each piece.” — Ericka Park
Ericka is a self-taught ceramic artist whose work celebrates the vivid and harmonious colors found in nature. Born and raised in the small rural town of Port Perry, her childhood was immersed in the wonders of the natural world. The lush forests, vibrant wildflowers, and ever-changing hues of the seasons ignited a lifelong passion for art and a deep connection to the environment. She draws inspiration from her interests in history, science, and creative curiosity and channels that into each piece.
She began her pottery journey in high school art class, where her love for the craft came to light. It wasn’t until 10 years later that she’d pick it up again, and quickly become hooked as she found her creative passion. Ericka’s journey as a self-taught ceramic artist has been marked by unwavering dedication and a thirst for knowledge. She never hesitates to push her creative boundaries, experimenting with new techniques, glazes, and firing methods. Every cracked piece and every triumphant creation is a lesson learned and an opportunity for growth. As she continues to explore the boundless possibilities of clay, her artistry will undoubtedly reach new heights.
Her creations will continue to grace homes, spark conversations, and evoke emotions, reminding us that we can turn our dreams into tangible works of art with dedication, passion, and a bit of clay.
