Sumi-e Japanese Ink Painting
All levels are welcome to experience this elegant Japanese brush art style that focuses on contrast and harmony. You will learn some of the basic strokes of Sumi-e, Japanese ink painting, with demonstrations and individual instruction. Participants will learn/refresh the basic brush strokes. As time permits, we will be build on this foundation and explore different subjects. This knowledge can be transferred to other practices.
About the Instructor: Diana Bullock
Diana studied Sumi-e at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. In 1999 she submitted a test painting and was awarded her seal. She continues to participate in workshops with many different masters. Diana works in several different media. She paints in acrylic, Sumi-e, watercolours. and some mixed media. She enjoys sharing her love of painting with others.
