Professional Development Workshop: How to Photograph Your Work

This is a workshop designed to help artists learn how to photograph their work. As a professional artist, you may need photos of your artwork for your website, social media pages, to submit your work to galleries and shows, or to sell your art.

In this workshop, Jonathan van Bilsen will teach tips and techniques for photographing art and different kinds of art such as paintings, sculptures, textiles, etc.., photographing with an iPhone, and how to crop, edit, and label your photos. Make sure to bring your phone or a camera and one piece of your art! Jonathan will give each participant a walk-through of how to photograph them. Bring your questions as there will be time for a Q&A as well! This workshop takes place at Jonathan’s Studio, 188 Mary St. Port Perry.

Jonathan van Bilsen is a television host, an award-winning photographer, published author, columnist and keynote speaker. He has been awarded the prestigious Patron of the Arts Award, ‘Best’ Photography Studio in North Durham (13 years in a row). Jonathan has received the Ontario Heritage award, was selected to the Mayor’s Honour Roll for 2015 and was recently honoured by Canada’s Minister of Veterans Affairs.​
