Inktober! Drawing Fundamentals Course
About the Course:
Whether you’re a seasoned drawist or just getting your feet wet in the arts scene, come and enjoy the fun of getting back to basics in this creative drawing fundamentals course that celebrates Inktober—a time to be creative and untamed with your artistic expression. Working without colour, participants in this course are continually challenged to push the boundaries of black and white drawing, embracing their imaginative side.
About the Instructor:
Jesse Wheelock holds a BFA from Queen’s University and works as a multidisciplinary artist whose pieces explore self-discovery through themes of LGBTQ+ identity, human nature, and fantasy. Drawing inspiration from dark fairytales and a lifelong love of storytelling, Jesse works across painting, sculpture, textiles, and literature, with each medium expressing a unique tone, ranging from dark and messy to whimsical and intricate. Jesse accepted his first contract with Scugog Arts in 2020 and has been continuing to build his portfolio in the arts community through volunteering, event coordination, and, most recently, in his position as the Director of Programs at Scugog Arts.
