Grow and Go: Microgreens for the Community
As supplies last, The Barrett Centre of Innovation in Sustainable Urban Agriculture will be providing an opportunity for community members to plant their own microgreen containers to take home. Microgreens are edible seedlings, including a wide range of vegetable and herbs. Many common microgreens include radish, broccoli, cabbage, kale, beets, peas, and beans!
The Barrett Centre is an award winning hub of excellence in urban agriculture and sustainable growing practices. From a dynamic urban farm in the Town of Ajax featuring a state-of-the-art vertical indoor farm, to the creation of experiential education programming for students and community, The Barrett Centre is dedicated to providing accessible and sustainable modelling. Combining research, community engagement and cutting-edge agri-tech, the Barrett Centre acts as a community-based living lab to showcase urban farming potential to individuals and organizations across Canada and the globe.
