2023 Ekphrastic Writing Literary Contest

Write fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction based on imaginative art pieces selected from the 2022 Annual Juried Show.

The word Ekphrasis translates to “description” in Greek and ekphrastic writing describes or is inspired by a work of art. The Scugog Arts 2023 Literary Contest includes three paintings and one linocut print from the 2022 Annual Juried Show as inspiration for the contest.

Scugog Arts is very excited to have author Lucy E.M. Black as the juror for the 2023 Ekphrastic Writing Literary Contest.
