Theatre3x60-header

Theatre 3×60 offers Durham theatre audiences the opportunity to sample the distinct and unique styles of Canada’s best playwrights with 3xCanadians, a staged reading series being presented this March, May and June in north and south Durham venues. 3xCanadians is one of the ways in which Theatre 3×60 is introducing audiences to lesser known and Canadian theatre work in their own communities in Durham.

The excellence and variety in Canadian playwriting is apparent from the work being presented in the Studio of Blue Heron Books in Uxbridge and the Rehearsal Hall of Oshawa Little Theatre. Hannah Moscovitch’s ‘Essay’, ‘USSR’, and ‘Mexico City’ are three diverse short one act plays that offer social commentary, human insight and humour; ‘And So It Goes’ by George F. Walker is a darkly humorous look at the impact of mental illness on a “functional” family and ‘The Margin of the Sky’ by Stewart Lemoine is a fanciful look at music, inspiration and chance meetings in Los Angeles.
All the plays are being directed by Theatre 3×60 co-artistic directors, Joan Etienne and Carey Nicholson, with the exception of Mexico City, being directed and performed by Johnny Soln. Other Durham actors in the series include Maggie Anderson, Conrad Boyce, Graeme Powell, Amanda Smith and Mary Soln.
3xCanadians runs March 21, May 9 and June 20 in the Studio at Blue Heron Books, 62 Brock St. W., Uxbridge and March 31, May 10 and June 23 in the Rehearsal Room at Oshawa Little Theatre, 62 Russett Ave., Oshawa. All performances start at 7:30 pm.
Tickets for 3xCanadians are $10/single evening and $25/series of 3 and are available (cash/cheque/VISA/MC) at 905 852-7993,   info@theatre3x60.ca.
Tickets for the Uxbridge performances are also available (cash/cheque only) at Blue Heron Books.
